SafeShorts

SafeShorts is a mobile app that delivers a curated feed of short videos for kids (ages 6–12) without the addictive mechanics of mainstream platforms. Parents choose an age band, interests (science, crafts, sports, animals), and daily limits; kids get a clean, finite playlist that ends—no infinite scroll, no autoplay rabbit holes. Content comes from licensed creators and vetted educational publishers, plus a tightly controlled submission program. An AI layer assists moderators by flagging risky themes, unsafe comments, and subtle policy violations, but humans make final calls to avoid embarrassing mistakes. The app includes “watch with me” prompts and quick offline activities tied to videos so screen time converts into real-world play. Monetization is subscription-first (family plan), with optional school bundles. This is not trying to beat YouTube; it’s trying to be the alternative parents actually trust.
