SanctionLens is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps NGOs, exporters, banks, and compliance teams quickly assess sanctions and export-control exposure for people, entities, vessels, and transactions across major jurisdictions. Users paste a counterparty name, upload a vendor list, or enter shipment details; the app returns match confidence, jurisdiction coverage, and a plain-language explanation of why a hit matters. It also tracks changes to sanctions lists and generates audit-ready screening reports for internal controls. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for deterministic list matching and recordkeeping; AI for entity resolution (aliases, transliterations), summarizing legal notes, and drafting risk memos. Realistically, it won’t replace legal counsel and won’t eliminate false positives, but it can cut screening time and reduce costly misses for teams that can’t afford enterprise compliance suites.
