SanctionSnap

SanctionSnap is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that screens trade-finance documents and counterparties for sanctions, embargo, and restricted-party risk before you ship or finance. Users upload invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, LC text, and beneficiary/buyer details; the app extracts entities, addresses, ports, vessel names, HS codes, and banks, then runs checks against major watchlists and adverse media. It produces a simple risk report with matched evidence, confidence levels, and an audit trail you can hand to compliance or your bank. This is an AI + traditional app: AI handles extraction, fuzzy matching, and name-variant resolution; deterministic rules handle list checks, thresholds, and approvals. Realistically, it won’t replace a bank’s compliance team, but it can catch obvious issues early, reduce back-and-forth, and prevent costly shipment holds.
