SandBudget

SandBudget is a mobile + web planning app for people traveling or working in deserts who need realistic water, fuel, and heat-risk estimates before they leave cell coverage. Users enter route length, elevation, vehicle type, passenger count, season, and gear. The app outputs conservative water and fuel budgets, heat-index windows, recommended departure/turnaround times, and a simple checklist (spares, comms, shelter). It also supports offline maps and a “panic protocol” card that’s accessible without login. This is not a magic survival tool: it won’t replace training, local knowledge, or emergency services. The value is reducing dumb planning mistakes (underestimating water/fuel, ignoring heat timing, overcommitting to distance) with a repeatable, shareable plan that groups can agree on. Monetization: subscription for advanced route templates, team sharing, and exportable trip plans for tour operators and field crews.
