ScamShieldr
ScamShieldr is a mobile + web AI app that helps people quickly judge whether a text, email, DM, link, invoice, or “bank” phone call is likely a scam. Users paste content or forward messages; the app extracts claims (urgency, payment method, impersonation cues), checks URLs against threat intel, and flags high-risk patterns like gift-card requests, crypto “recovery,” fake job checks, and account-takeover prompts. It returns a plain-English verdict, a confidence score, and the safest next steps (e.g., how to contact the real institution, what not to click, what to report). It also generates a short script for users to read on the phone to verify identity without leaking info. A “family mode” lets adult children monitor scam attempts sent to elderly relatives (opt-in) and get alerts for high-risk messages. This is not magic: it reduces mistakes, but it won’t catch every novel scam.
