SceneSifter
SceneSifter is a web app (with a lightweight desktop export tool) for literary fiction writers and editors who need ruthless, practical feedback at the scene level. You upload a manuscript (DOCX/EPUB) and the app breaks it into scenes, then scores each one for tension, character agency, novelty, pacing drag, and thematic coherence. It doesn’t pretend to “write your novel” or replace taste; it flags likely problem areas with concrete, testable notes (e.g., “goal unclear,” “conflict resolves too fast,” “POV distance shifts,” “dialogue carries no subtext”). You can compare two revisions of the same scene and see what improved or worsened. The output is designed for real editing: a prioritized punch list, scene map, and exportable report you can share with a human editor or beta readers. It’s an AI-assisted editing triage tool, not a magic creativity machine.
