SceneSleuth
SceneSleuth is a mobile + web AI app that helps viewers fact-check documentaries and docuseries without doing deep research themselves. While you watch, you can mark a timestamped claim (e.g., “this photo is from 1989” or “this person said X”) and the app generates a structured “verification card” with sources, confidence level, and what’s disputed. It pulls from reputable databases (news archives, academic sources, government sites, and open web) and clearly separates confirmed facts, contested claims, and opinion. It also flags common manipulation patterns: misleading timelines, recycled footage, out-of-context quotes, and shaky statistics. Reality check: this won’t be perfect—some claims are inherently unverifiable—but it will drastically reduce the time it takes to get to trustworthy context and citations.
