SceneSpine is a web + desktop app (Electron) that helps writers diagnose story structure at the scene level without forcing them into a single formula. You import or write scenes as cards, then tag each with goal, conflict, outcome, turning point, stakes shift, and character change. The app generates a “spine map” that highlights long stretches without reversals, repeated beats, missing escalation, and weak cause-effect links. It also provides lightweight AI suggestions for alternatives (e.g., stronger scene outcomes, clearer turning points), but keeps the writer in control with editable checklists and rationale prompts. Export options include outline, beat sheet, and Scrivener-friendly formats. It’s designed for writers who already have pages but suspect the middle sags, the stakes don’t climb, or the plot feels episodic.
