SchemaSentry
SchemaSentry is a web app (with optional browser extension) that continuously audits and enforces information architecture standards across content systems. Instead of being yet another diagramming tool, it connects to your CMS, docs/wiki, and design system to detect taxonomy drift: duplicate categories, inconsistent labels, orphaned pages, broken hierarchies, and navigation patterns that no longer match the agreed IA. It generates a living “IA contract” (rules for naming, hierarchy depth, required metadata, allowed synonyms, URL patterns) and runs scheduled checks that flag violations with clear, actionable fixes. Teams can route issues to owners, track remediation, and measure IA health over time with a simple scorecard.
This is not magic: it won’t auto-invent a perfect taxonomy for your business. It will, however, reliably catch the slow entropy that happens after launches, reorganizations, and mergers—when search relevance drops and users can’t find things. The MVP focuses on one or two integrations (e.g., Contentful + Confluence) and a rules engine that’s transparent and reviewable, with optional AI assistance for suggesting merges and synonyms (always requiring approval).
