ScopeBuddy
ScopeBuddy is a mobile app (iOS/Android) plus a lightweight web dashboard that helps amateur astronomers troubleshoot telescope setup problems in minutes: bad collimation, shaky mounts, wrong finder alignment, focus issues, and “why is Jupiter a blob?” moments. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: users answer a short guided flow, upload a quick photo of a defocused star or their optical train, and the app suggests the most likely causes and the exact next steps (with checklists and short videos). It also generates a personalized “setup card” for your specific gear (Dob, SCT, refractor, mount, eyepieces) so you stop re-learning the same steps every session. This is not a planetarium app; it’s a practical field tool aimed at reducing frustration, wasted clear nights, and return rates for beginner gear.
