ScopeFence

ScopeFence is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps sustainability teams define, document, and govern “system boundaries” for ESG and carbon reporting—what’s in, what’s out, and why. It guides users through boundary choices (organizational control, equity share, operational control, facility lists, leased assets, subsidiaries, joint ventures) and produces an auditable boundary record with assumptions, exclusions, and change history. The app connects to common data sources (ERP, HRIS, facilities lists) to flag boundary drift: new sites, acquisitions, divestitures, and vendor changes that silently break year-over-year comparability. It also generates boundary diagrams and a plain-language narrative suitable for disclosures and internal sign-off. This is not a “magic carbon calculator”; it’s a governance tool that prevents reporting rework, audit findings, and embarrassing restatements when boundaries shift mid-year.
