ScoutShield
ScoutShield is a mobile + desktop companion that helps parents and kids catch online grooming, sextortion, and manipulative chat patterns early—without reading every message. It runs locally where possible and flags high-risk conversation dynamics (pressure to move platforms, secrecy demands, age/identity probing, escalating sexual content, threats). Kids get a simple “Why this is risky” explanation and one-tap actions: block, report, or ask a trusted adult. Parents receive only risk summaries and trend alerts (e.g., “3 high-risk interactions this week”), not full transcripts by default, to reduce surveillance backlash. The app includes a guided safety plan, emergency contacts, and evidence capture for reporting. It’s realistic about limits: it won’t stop all harm, and false positives will happen, but it can shorten the time-to-intervention when something genuinely dangerous starts unfolding.
