ScreenSift

ScreenSift is a mobile app (with a companion web dashboard) that helps parents quickly decide what kids should watch, play, or read—without relying on vague age ratings. It aggregates content from major streaming services and app stores, then summarizes what actually matters: themes, intensity, scary moments, bullying, sexual content, language, and consumerism/ads. The app offers “Why it’s okay / why to skip” notes, plus fast filters like “no jump scares,” “no mean-spirited humor,” or “calm bedtime.” Parents can create kid profiles, set household rules, and get weekly suggestions that match their values. It’s an AI-assisted app, but with human-in-the-loop moderation for the most popular titles to reduce hallucinations and keep trust. Monetization is subscription-based with a limited free tier.
