ScribeTrace

ScribeTrace is a web + mobile app for collectors, museums, auction houses, and researchers to assess the authenticity and provenance signals of handwritten and inscribed writing systems (papyrus, parchment, palm leaf, stone rubbings, manuscripts). Users upload high-res images, then the app guides them through a structured capture workflow (lighting, scale, UV/IR if available) and produces a report: script family likelihood, date-range hints, stroke/ductus consistency checks, ink/medium anomalies, and a transparent checklist of what can and cannot be concluded. It’s not a magical “this is real” button; it’s a decision-support tool that standardizes expert triage, reduces obvious fraud, and creates consistent documentation for due diligence. Reports are exportable for insurance, acquisition committees, and seller disputes, with an audit trail and chain-of-custody notes.
