SeasonScout

SeasonScout is a mobile + web app that tells shoppers what produce is actually in season locally, and where to buy it, without relying on vague “local” marketing. Users set their region, then see a weekly seasonal list, simple swap suggestions (e.g., “skip asparagus—choose kale”), and a map of nearby farmers markets, CSAs, and grocers that carry seasonal items. The app also lets small farms and market managers update availability in minutes, so the data stays current. This is a traditional app with light AI: AI helps generate recipe swaps and short explanations, but the core value is accurate, region-specific seasonality and inventory signals. Monetization is realistic: a freemium consumer app plus paid listings/tools for farms/markets (not ads-first). If you can’t keep data fresh, the app is useless—so the product is built around easy supplier updates and incentives.
