SeasonShift

SeasonShift is a mobile + web app that measures “real season” locally using observable signals instead of calendar dates. It blends public weather data (temperature, precipitation, snow cover) with user-submitted phenology check-ins (first buds, leaf color, first frost, pollen spikes) to produce a simple weekly “Season Index” for your neighborhood. Users can compare this year vs. last year, see how early/late key milestones are, and get alerts like “first frost likely within 10 days” or “peak leaf color window opening.” It’s not trying to replace a weather app; it’s a lightweight layer on top that answers the question people actually ask: “Is the season shifting here?” The app also offers community maps and a private mode for gardeners, hikers, photographers, and educators who want their own logs without social noise.
