SeasonSignal

SeasonSignal is a mobile + web app that shows what produce is actually in season within a chosen radius, then points you to nearby places that reliably carry it (farmers markets, CSAs, small grocers). The core is a “season confidence score” that combines regional crop calendars, recent vendor inventory updates, and user-submitted sightings with photo/time/location proof. Users can set alerts for specific items (e.g., “first local strawberries”) and get simple swap suggestions when something is out of season. Vendors get a lightweight portal to post today’s availability in under a minute. This is not a magic ‘local’ label—SeasonSignal is intentionally conservative and will often say “uncertain” rather than guess. Monetization: vendor subscriptions for listings/alerts, and optional consumer premium for advanced alerts and meal-planning integrations.
