SeatScout

SeatScout is a mobile + web app for restaurant discovery based on one thing people actually care about in the moment: how long it will take to get seated. Instead of ranking restaurants by reviews alone, it aggregates live wait-time signals from multiple sources: user check-ins, optional POS/host-stand integrations, and passive indicators like reservation availability. Users open the app, set party size and budget, and see nearby options sorted by “time-to-table,” with filters for cuisine, noise level, and dietary needs. Each listing highlights the best time window to go, plus a confidence score so users know when data is thin. The app also supports “Plan B” suggestions if the first choice spikes. Realistically, the hardest part is data coverage; the product must start in a few dense neighborhoods and expand city-by-city with incentives for contributors and partner restaurants.
