SeatSignal

SeatSignal is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps teachers build seating charts based on real classroom constraints: behavior conflicts, IEP/504 accommodations, vision/hearing needs, peer dynamics, and instructional goals (group work vs. testing). Teachers enter a roster, tag students with simple attributes (e.g., “distracts easily,” “needs front,” “cannot sit together”), and drag desks on a room map. The AI mode proposes multiple seating layouts with trade-offs explained (“minimizes known conflicts,” “maximizes teacher proximity,” “balances talkative students”). It also supports quick “swap mode” during class and keeps a seating history so teachers can revert when a change backfires. Realistically, this wins only if it saves time and reduces incidents; otherwise teachers will stick to Google Slides or paper charts.
