SeatSomm

SeatSomm is a mobile + web app that helps fine-dining guests choose wine (and non-alcoholic pairings) confidently without needing a sommelier’s full attention. You scan the wine list (photo/PDF), select your dishes, budget, and preferences (dryness, body, regions, “no oak,” etc.), and the app produces 2–3 pairing picks with plain-English reasoning and a short script you can use with staff (“Could we do a medium-bodied red with low tannin?”). Restaurants can optionally upload their list for better accuracy and get analytics on what guests are asking for. This is an AI-assisted app, but it’s grounded with guardrails: it avoids hallucinated bottles by only recommending items detected on the list and flags uncertainty. It’s not trying to replace sommeliers—just reduce decision paralysis and awkwardness for guests.
