SecondShift is a web + mobile AI-assisted marketplace that helps mid-to-late career professionals land short, realistic “encore” projects with small businesses and nonprofits. Instead of vague career coaching, it focuses on transaction-ready outcomes: a scoped project, a fair price, and a clear timeline. Users build a proof-based profile by importing LinkedIn and attaching artifacts (decks, SOPs, before/after metrics). The app then suggests 3–5 project templates (e.g., “Fix your cashflow reporting in 2 weeks”) and generates a tight proposal and statement of work. On the buyer side, organizations post needs in plain language; the system converts them into structured scopes, budgets, and required skills. Payments, milestones, and lightweight dispute handling are built in. This is not magic: it won’t “reinvent” anyone’s career, but it can reliably create paid on-ramps and references.
