SecondSpark is a mobile app (with a lightweight web companion) for people 55+ who want companionship or romance but are tired of fake profiles, romance scams, and awkward swipe culture. It uses AI-assisted safety checks to flag suspicious behavior (scripted messages, rapid love-bombing, off-platform pushes) and requires a higher-trust onboarding: ID + liveness check, optional background-screen badge, and a short “values + lifestyle” profile that prioritizes compatibility over photos. Instead of endless swiping, users get a limited set of curated matches weekly plus guided conversation prompts designed for later-life realities (health, family boundaries, retirement plans, caregiving). A “date-ready” flow helps plan safe first meetings with location suggestions, check-in timers, and shareable itineraries with a trusted contact. Monetization is subscription with optional paid verification and concierge date-planning add-ons.
