SeedSentry

SeedSentry is a mobile + web app that helps backyard bird feeders reduce seed waste and avoid pest problems (rats, squirrels, raccoons) by tracking feeder activity, refill habits, and local conditions. Users log quick “refill” and “cleanup” events, snap a photo of spilled seed, and the app estimates waste cost over time and suggests practical adjustments (feeder type, baffle placement, seed blend changes, feeding schedule). Optional AI analyzes photos of the ground under the feeder to flag high-risk spill zones and likely pest attractants, then generates a simple action checklist. It also includes a lightweight “neighborhood risk” view based on user-reported pest sightings and weather, without pretending to be scientific. The goal is not to gamify birding; it’s to make feeding less messy, less expensive, and less likely to trigger complaints from neighbors or landlords.
