SetSense

SetSense builds a personal taste profile from what you’ve actually watched and how you felt about it, then matches you to movies and series with clear, human-readable reasons. Instead of generic “because you liked X,” it breaks recommendations into a few stable taste dimensions (pace, darkness, humor style, plot complexity, romance level, violence tolerance, etc.) and lets you tune them with simple sliders. The app also supports “situational matching” (solo, date night, background, family-safe) without forcing you to create multiple accounts. It’s realistic about catalog fragmentation: it doesn’t pretend to have everything, but it will tell you where to watch and offer the closest available alternatives across services. The MVP focuses on being a better filter and explainer than streaming apps, not trying to out-AI Netflix.
