ShadeAudit
ShadeAudit is a web + mobile AI-assisted urban design tool that quantifies pedestrian comfort block-by-block using shade, surface temperature, and wind proxies. Planners and consultants upload a simple 3D massing model (or pull buildings/trees from public GIS), then run scenario comparisons: add trees, change setbacks, widen sidewalks, adjust canopy coverage, or test awnings. The app outputs a “Comfort Score” by hour/season, maps of heat exposure, and a short report tailored for public meetings and permitting. It’s not a full CFD or microclimate simulator—those are expensive and slow—but it’s accurate enough for early-stage decisions and for defending design tradeoffs with transparent assumptions. The goal is to replace hand-wavy claims (“more shade”) with measurable, repeatable metrics that fit typical project timelines and budgets.
