ShaderSentry
ShaderSentry is a desktop app (with optional CI integration) that analyzes GPU shaders and render pipeline settings to flag common performance and correctness issues before they reach players. It ingests HLSL/GLSL/WGSL plus engine metadata (Unity/Unreal/Godot export or custom JSON) and runs static checks: divergent branches, precision pitfalls, undefined behavior, texture sampling hazards, overdraw risks, and platform-specific incompatibilities. It also compiles shaders across target backends (DXC, glslang, Metal via translation where possible) and produces a readable report with “why it matters,” estimated impact, and concrete fixes. This is not a magic optimizer; it won’t replace profiling. The value is fast feedback during code review and CI, catching expensive mistakes early and preventing platform regressions that are painful to debug late in production.
