ShameLedger

ShameLedger is a mobile + web AI app that helps people untangle guilt and shame-driven money behaviors (avoidance, hiding purchases, panic spending, over-saving, debt secrecy). Instead of generic budgeting, it focuses on the emotional triggers behind transactions. Users connect accounts (or manually log), then tag moments with quick “what happened / what I felt / what I did” check-ins. The AI detects recurring shame loops (e.g., payday splurge after a stressful call, hiding subscriptions, skipping bills due to dread) and generates small, realistic scripts and micro-actions: a 2-minute “open the bank app” exposure plan, a debt disclosure message template to a partner, or a “pause rule” before impulse buys. It includes a private “money confession” journal with optional therapist/coach sharing and weekly progress snapshots that reward honesty, not perfection. It’s not therapy, but it is behavior change with guardrails and privacy-first design.
