ShelfLifeHQ

ShelfLifeHQ is a mobile + web app that helps households and small food businesses manage ingredient freshness without pretending it can magically “know” everything from a photo. You log items fast via barcode scan, receipt import, or quick templates (milk, eggs, produce, leftovers). The app assigns realistic default shelf-life ranges and lets you adjust based on storage (fridge/freezer/pantry) and package state (opened/unopened). It then runs a simple “use-next” queue and sends reminders before items turn. A weekly waste report shows what you threw away and the estimated cost, so you can actually change behavior. It also supports shared inventories for roommates/families and a lightweight “what can I cook” filter that only uses what’s expiring soon. This is not a full recipe platform; it’s a practical freshness tracker that stays narrow and useful.
