ShelfScout
ShelfScout is a mobile + web app that helps households and small teams keep a lightweight inventory of what’s stored where—closets, bins, garage shelves, and cabinets—without turning it into a tedious cataloging project. You create “zones” (e.g., Garage Shelf A3), then add items by snapping a photo and typing a short label; optional barcode scanning speeds up common products. The app generates a simple location index and lets you search in plain language (“AA batteries”, “camping stove”, “kid winter gloves”) to see likely matches and their storage location. It also supports quick “move” actions when you reorganize, plus shareable access for partners/roommates. This is not a magical auto-recognition promise; it’s a pragmatic system that reduces duplicate purchases and the time wasted hunting for stuff, while staying easy enough that people actually keep it updated.
