ShelfSense

ShelfSense helps natural/organic beauty users track product freshness and storage so they stop using oxidized oils, rancid butters, and contaminated “clean” formulas. You scan a barcode (or snap the label), set opened date, and the app calculates a realistic “use-by” window based on product type (oil, water-based, preservative-free), packaging (jar vs pump), and your environment (bathroom humidity/heat). It sends reminders to use up, refrigerate, or toss, and suggests safer usage habits (spatula, patch test after long storage). It also builds a simple inventory so you don’t rebuy what you already own. This is not glamorous, but it’s practical: clean beauty often has shorter shelf life and users waste money or risk irritation because they can’t remember when they opened something. The app focuses on reducing waste and preventing avoidable skin reactions from degraded products.
