ShelfSense is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that recommends what small retailers should reorder, discount, or stop carrying—based on their own POS history, seasonality, local events, and supplier lead times. Instead of generic “top sellers,” it produces SKU-level actions: reorder quantities, suggested promo bundles, and substitution recommendations when items are out of stock. It connects to common POS systems (Square, Shopify POS, Lightspeed) and ingests daily sales, inventory counts, and purchase orders. The app flags likely stockouts weeks ahead, identifies dead stock early, and recommends leaner assortments per store location. It’s an AI app combined with traditional analytics: forecasting + recommendation ranking, with explainability (“because weekends + school season + past 6 weeks trend”). Realistically, the hardest part is clean data and retailer trust—so the MVP focuses on a narrow set of POS integrations and a simple, auditable recommendation feed.
