ShelfSense Pantry

ShelfSense Pantry is a mobile + web app that helps households reduce food waste by tracking what’s actually in their fridge and pantry, then nudging them to use items before they spoil. Users add items via receipt import or barcode scan, set storage location (fridge/freezer/pantry), and the app estimates realistic spoilage windows (not just printed dates) based on item type and storage. It generates “use-first” meal suggestions and a weekly plan that prioritizes expiring ingredients, plus a simple leftover tracker so cooked food doesn’t get forgotten. The app also creates a shopping list that avoids duplicates by warning when you already have something at home. It’s intentionally not a social network or coupon app—just a practical system that reduces waste with minimal data entry. Monetization is a freemium subscription with optional family sharing.
