ShelfSentry is a mobile + web app (traditional + AI) for small food businesses to reduce spoilage and stockouts with lightweight inventory and expiry tracking. Staff scan invoices or take photos of delivery labels; the app auto-extracts items, quantities, and best-by dates, then prompts simple “use-first” prep lists and daily waste checks. It forecasts near-term depletion and flags high-risk items based on sales velocity, seasonality, and lead times. Managers get a weekly waste and margin report that ties spoilage to dollars lost, not vague counts. It integrates with Square/Toast for sales signals but still works standalone for shops that hate complex POS setups. The goal is not perfect enterprise inventory—it’s fast, accurate-enough visibility that a busy kitchen will actually maintain.
