ShelfSignal is a mobile + web app for cold-chain traceability that focuses on one thing most “traceability” tools gloss over: continuous temperature evidence tied to each lot and delivery stop. Small and mid-sized food brands and distributors attach inexpensive Bluetooth temperature loggers (or ingest data from existing sensors), then the app automatically links readings to purchase orders, lots, and handoffs. Receivers scan a QR code at delivery to bind custody, capture photos, and flag exceptions (e.g., >5°C for 30 minutes). The system generates a simple “temperature passport” that can be shared with retailers, auditors, and insurers. It’s not magic blockchain; it’s practical evidence that reduces disputes, shrink, and chargebacks. AI is used only to detect anomalies, predict spoilage risk, and summarize compliance reports—keeping the core workflow reliable even without perfect data.
