ShelfSignal helps small warehouses, makerspaces, and storage rooms stop wasting time hunting for space. It maps your shelves, bins, and floor zones, then tracks capacity in practical terms: usable volume, weight limits, and “awkward item” fit. Users can quickly log inbound items with dimensions (manual entry or barcode lookup) and get a suggested location that actually fits, not just “any empty bin.” It’s not trying to be a full WMS/ERP; it’s a lightweight capacity and placement layer that can run alongside spreadsheets. The MVP focuses on one site, simple roles, and fast setup. If you don’t have perfect data, it still works by using conservative estimates and prompting for missing measurements only when needed. The goal is fewer reshuffles, fewer blocked aisles, and fewer ‘we’re out of space’ surprises.
