ShelfSip

ShelfSip is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps shoppers choose beverages in-store by scanning the barcode and instantly seeing three things: (1) real price-per-serving vs nearby alternatives, (2) a simple ingredient/nutrition “watchlist” based on your preferences (e.g., caffeine limits, sweeteners, allergens), and (3) a crowd-sourced “actually tastes like” note summary. It’s not trying to be another review site; it’s built for the 30 seconds you have in the aisle. The app also tracks your personal “buy again / never again” history and can suggest cheaper equivalents at your usual store. Realistically, the hardest part is data coverage and keeping prices current; the MVP should focus on a handful of major retailers/regions and let users submit price sightings with lightweight verification. Monetization is freemium with a paid tier for advanced filters and household profiles.
