ShelfSnap is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that creates a fast, visual map of your kitchen storage—cabinets, fridge, freezer, pantry—so you can find items and avoid duplicates. Instead of forcing perfect inventory, it focuses on “good-enough organization”: you take quick photos of each shelf/bin, label zones (e.g., “Baking,” “Snacks,” “Canned”), and add a few key items via barcode scan or voice. The app then lets you search “where is cumin?” or “do we have pasta?” and returns the most likely location with the latest shelf photo. It also supports shared households with simple check-in/check-out prompts and low-friction reminders when you buy something. This is not a full pantry accounting system; it’s a practical locator and anti-duplicate tool that works even when you’re imperfect.
