ShelterShift

ShelterShift is a mobile + web app for animal shelters and rescues to schedule volunteers and foster homes with fewer last-minute gaps. It replaces messy spreadsheets, group chats, and unreliable sign-up forms with role-based scheduling, automated reminders, and a simple “can you cover?” broadcast when someone cancels. Volunteers get a clean calendar, one-tap confirm/decline, and clear task checklists (feeding, meds, cleaning, transport). Coordinators get a live coverage dashboard, compliance notes (training completed, bite protocol acknowledgment), and lightweight reporting for grant requirements. This is not a feel-good community app; it’s operational plumbing that reduces animal stress by keeping routines consistent. The MVP focuses on one painful problem: ensuring the right humans show up at the right time with the right instructions, without burning out staff.
