ShelterSlot

ShelterSlot is a web + mobile app that lets shelters and partner NGOs publish real-time capacity (beds, family rooms, overflow mats), eligibility rules, hours, and accessibility details, while allowing verified frontline workers to reserve or “hold” a spot for a limited window. It’s designed for human-rights-adjacent crises: domestic violence survivors, displaced families, LGBTQ+ youth, trafficking survivors, and people exiting detention. The app focuses on operational truth, not marketing—capacity updates expire quickly unless reconfirmed, and no public browsing is allowed to reduce stalking/abuse risk. A lightweight AI layer helps normalize intake notes, translate messages, and flag mismatches (e.g., wheelchair needs vs. stairs-only). The product is intentionally boring: fast check-in/out, audit trails, and simple referral handoffs. If shelters won’t update reliably, the app fails—so the workflow is built around minimal taps and incentives for accuracy.
