ShelterSlot

ShelterSlot is a mobile + web app that lets shelters and outreach teams publish real-time bed and service availability (men/women/family, ADA, sobriety requirements, curfew, pet-friendly, storage, showers, meals). Instead of endless calls, staff update a simple status board (e.g., “3 beds open until 9pm”) and outreach workers can reserve a time-limited “hold” with minimal client info (or anonymous token) to reduce no-shows and protect privacy. The app includes lightweight verification to prevent bad data: update reminders, change logs, and a reliability score per location based on confirmation pings. It’s not a feel-good social network; it’s operational plumbing that saves hours and reduces missed placements. AI is used only where it actually helps: auto-summarizing rules, translating updates, and flagging inconsistent availability patterns for review.
