ShiftGuard

ShiftGuard is a mobile + web app (traditional + AI) that reduces last-minute callouts and scheduling whiplash for restaurants. It combines smart scheduling with accountability: staff confirm shifts with one tap, and the system tracks reliability scores, recurring issues, and coverage patterns. When a shift is at risk (late confirmation, frequent callouts, weather events, big reservations), the app triggers an automated coverage workflow: notify an eligible on-call pool, offer shift incentives, and suggest cross-trained replacements. Managers get a simple dashboard showing labor risk for the next 7 days, predicted understaffing windows, and the cheapest coverage options. It integrates with POS/timeclock exports to compare scheduled vs. actual hours and highlight chronic over/under staffing. The goal isn’t “perfect AI scheduling”—it’s fewer emergencies, fewer texts, and fewer blown services with minimal behavior change from staff.
