ShiftHandoff

ShiftHandoff is a mobile + web app that standardizes nurse-to-nurse handoffs with a fast, structured workflow (SBAR-style) and a lightweight task tracker tied to each patient. Nurses can capture key updates in under a minute: vitals trends, pending labs, lines/drains, fall risk, pain plan, and “watch-outs.” The app generates a concise handoff summary and a prioritized checklist for the next shift, reducing reliance on scraps of paper and inconsistent notes. It also logs who handed off what and when, creating accountability without turning into surveillance. This is not a full EHR replacement; it’s a focused layer that integrates via HL7/FHIR where possible and works standalone when integration is blocked. The goal is fewer missed tasks, fewer callbacks, and less cognitive load during chaotic shift changes.
