ShiftHold is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for scheduling scarce, high-cost resources—studios, lab equipment, meeting rooms, vehicles, and shared tools—where last-minute cancellations and no-shows create real losses. It adds a “reservation hold” layer on top of calendars: configurable deposits, cancellation windows, auto-release rules, and waitlist backfilling. Users book like normal, but the system enforces policies (deposit, card-on-file, approvals) and automatically fills gaps when someone cancels. Admins get utilization dashboards, policy templates by resource type, and audit trails for disputes. It integrates with Google/Microsoft calendars so teams don’t change habits, but it becomes the source of truth for who actually has the resource and under what terms. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI suggests policy settings and predicts likely no-shows to trigger confirmations.
