ShiftLedger is a web + mobile app that helps hourly-work businesses prevent payroll disputes by creating a tamper-evident “shift receipt” for every worked shift. Employees clock in/out with geofence + device checks, breaks are logged, and any manager edits require a reason and are automatically shown to the employee for acknowledgement. At pay time, the app generates a clear, shareable audit trail: original punches, edits, approvals, and totals by day/week. It integrates with common payroll systems via export/API so it doesn’t replace payroll—just makes time records defensible and transparent. This is not glamorous, but it targets a real operational leak: wage claims, timecard arguments, and manager “fixes” that create mistrust. The product wins by being simple, fast, and legally useful, not by adding yet another all-in-one HR suite.
