ShiftPilot

ShiftPilot is a web + mobile app that helps small commercial sites (restaurants, gyms, small factories, retail) automatically move flexible electricity use to cheaper, cleaner hours. It connects to interval meter data (utility Green Button where available) and common building/plug controllers (smart thermostats, EV chargers, basic relays) to create simple “shift plans” for HVAC pre-cooling/heating, water heating, refrigeration defrost cycles, battery/EV charging, and non-critical equipment. Users set comfort and operational constraints (temperature bands, run windows, max demand limit), then the app schedules actions based on time-of-use rates and demand charge risk. It provides a weekly savings report, alerts when schedules will violate constraints, and a “manual override” mode for staff. This is not magic: it works best where loads are controllable and rates are volatile, and it will require some setup and occasional tuning.
