ShiftProof is a web + desktop app (optional lightweight mobile check-ins) that verifies remote work hours using “proof-of-work” signals instead of invasive screen recording. It combines calendar context, task system events (Jira/GitHub/Linear), meeting attendance, and short periodic micro-check-ins (one-click prompts) to generate a defensible timesheet confidence score. Managers get exception-based alerts (e.g., repeated no-signal days, suspiciously uniform hours) rather than minute-by-minute surveillance. Employees see exactly what signals were used and can add explanations (doctor appointment, deep work offline) to reduce false flags. The product is designed for SMBs that can’t afford enterprise workforce tools and are tired of disputes, payroll corrections, and quiet time theft. It won’t catch every bad actor, but it will reduce the most common abuse while keeping trust and privacy intact.
