ShiftScan
ShiftScan is a mobile + web app that standardizes in-store “walks” (opening, mid-day, closing, safety, food handling, loss prevention) into fast, verifiable audits. Associates scan QR/NFC points placed in key zones (receiving, coolers, endcaps, exits, restrooms) and answer a short checklist with photo proof. The system flags missed zones, late walks, repeat issues, and high-risk patterns (e.g., recurring spill hazards, blocked exits, cooler temp drift). Managers get a simple dashboard showing compliance by store, shift, and department, plus auto-generated corrective tasks with due dates.
This is not glamorous, but it targets a real operational problem: most retail checklists are either paper-based, faked, or too time-consuming, and incident costs (slips/falls, food safety, shrink) are expensive. The MVP focuses on speed and accountability, not “digital transformation theater.” It integrates with existing task tools later, but initially stands alone so a single district can pilot without IT drama. The AI component is limited and practical: photo verification (is the aisle actually clear? is a wet floor sign present?) and anomaly detection on repeated issues, not chatbots.
