ShiftScout

ShiftScout is a web + mobile AI app that helps people choose industries and roles based on what they actually do and tolerate, not vague job titles. Users answer a short, behavior-based intake (pace, ambiguity, stakeholder load, writing vs meetings, on-call tolerance, travel, compliance, sales pressure). The app then maps them to a “workstyle profile” and recommends roles across industries with realistic tradeoffs: typical week breakdown, stressors, promotion paths, salary bands, and required skills. It also shows adjacent roles with the smallest skill gap and a concrete 30-day test plan (projects, shadowing questions, informational interview scripts). The data layer blends public sources (O*NET, BLS, job postings) with anonymized user feedback to keep recommendations grounded. It’s not a magic career oracle; it’s a structured decision tool that reduces costly career pivots and wasted applications.
