ShiftShield is a mobile + web ride-sharing marketplace focused on late-night and early-morning shift workers (healthcare, hospitality, warehouses, airports). Instead of competing head-on with Uber/Lyft on instant rides, it specializes in scheduled, repeatable commutes with stronger trust controls: employer or union verification, optional workplace pickup zones, and recurring ride groups matched by shift times and proximity. Riders can set a weekly schedule, preferred pickup window, and comfort settings (quiet ride, same-gender preference where legal, no-cash policy). Drivers can choose “shift routes” that reliably fill seats and reduce deadhead miles. The app includes safety check-ins, route sharing, and a lightweight dispute process. Monetization is a per-ride fee plus optional employer-sponsored subsidies, because individual riders in this segment are price-sensitive and churn quickly without savings.
