ShiftSignal is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that forecasts short-term staffing demand for shift-based businesses using simple inputs: historical sales/footfall, bookings, local events, weather, and promotions. It turns messy, real-world operations data into a 7–28 day demand curve and converts that into recommended labor hours by role, with confidence bands and “what changed” explanations. The MVP focuses on one painful workflow: preventing under/over-staffing next week. Users can connect POS (e.g., Square), calendars/reservations, and upload CSVs, then generate forecasts and export suggested schedules to common tools. This is an AI + traditional app: classical time-series forecasting plus lightweight LLM summaries for anomalies and action notes. It’s not magic—forecasts will be wrong sometimes—but it will be consistently better than gut feel and spreadsheets for many SMB operators.
